So in the end I have tried your Mac model and it was pretty fast with RX 580 and it was driving a 4K LG display. There was a major flaw in the AMD Radeon GPUs included with that model years logic board which seemed to cause GPU failure either due to overheating, internal chip problems, BGA solder joints getting broken, or a combination of the above. As I said they were similiar to my 2016 Mac, the boost was incredible even if it has Thunderbolt 1 and weak CPU nowdays. The 2011 MacBook Pro has, for almost a decade, been the exception to that rule.
I will also publish a benchmark for with this 2011 Mac result. I’ve tried MacBook Air 13” 2012, Mac Pro late 2013 and finally MacBook Pro 13” 2011 like your in the last 2 weeks. I’m an Apple specialist, I have many Mac to test while I fix them form my costumers. Mine has the Mini DisplayPort Thunderbolt. Will come Factory Reset and ready to GoScreen has No Cracks or Scratches. I could probably still use a similar enclosure to what you have but I would need an adapter, since I have the original Thunderbolt on my Mac.
